Feelin’ lucky that I managed to capture the icon Feelin’ lucky that I managed to capture the iconic Scandinavian fog in its full beauty 🌫️

For some reason, I’ve rarely ever had a misty scene when my camera was by my side, so this was probably only the 2nd in my photography portfolio! The 1st time was a brief one in fall when I went camping in Denmark, but it disappeared really quickly too.

It never occured to me how mystical fog can look especially after some fine post-processing :) I hope you like it as much as I do!
On the last day back at Preikestolen Fjellstue, we On the last day back at Preikestolen Fjellstue, we wanted to make the best use of our time before returning to the city and decided on a simple hike of about 4km round trip to explore around the area. There was mist 🌫️ which made for a mysterious backdrop and the cherry-on-top was checking out a lady troll 🧌 en route! No better way to celebrate being in Viking region than meeting with a troll 😝
Do I wish I lived closer to mountains? Yes. Do Do I wish I lived closer to mountains?
Yes.

Do I fantasise about a life on the countryside?
Yes.

Do I want to move? Not now at least. It’s part of the human condition that we tend to chase after what we can’t have. Even though I’m an avid mountain lover, I know full well that if I moved to live beside mountains away from the city at this stage, I’d get bored again after some time.

Part of the beauty of moving to flattest country in Europe is retaining the same fascination I had back home in Singapore whenever I travelled to countries with mountainous regions 🤭 I don’t want to get used to the novelty and lose the inspiration I get whenever I’m out in the backcountry.

I love basking in the joy and privilege of not having the easiest access to mountains, so that when I’m on them, I never take them for granted.

Do you live near mountains too, or do you have to go the distance for them as well? Let me know down below 👇🏼
Safe to say, this was my favourite shot from the L Safe to say, this was my favourite shot from the Lysefjord hiking trip in June 💛

The first hour after sunrise, the last hour of light before sunset — I have always been a fan of golden hours. As a photographer, these are the most precious windows of time that give the perfect light diffusion, enhances the scene, and feels most magical.

And I’m also that person who chooses to chase sunrises more than sunsets. Something about the promise, hope and splendour of sunrises to kickstart the day while everyone else is still fast asleep, makes it even more special and personal to me.

I remember backpacking in Sri Lanka and sleeping in a homestay/inn perched on a hill in Kandy, and asking if any of my girlfriends were keen to wake up and drink tea with me while watching the sunrise. I got called crazy 🤣 but I still did it on my own anyway, and was rewarded with one of the most stunning sunrise experience ever, sipping on hot tea, falling in love with golden hour photography again and again.

There is rarely anyone that I’ve travelled with who enjoys waking up early for sunrises as much as I do. But, I forge special bonds with and always remember the ones who do. Thank you for sharing my little musings and nerdy photography moments with me, I’m so glad that you’ve stuck around ☺️
Sights from Kjeragbolten part II 😌 Looking bac Sights from Kjeragbolten part II 😌

Looking back at old photos, I do regret not bringing my wide angle lens out to Norway. A lot of my photos look terribly zoomed in… and yes even though I remembered the moment since that’s what matters, it just isn’t the same when a photo doesn’t give the experience justice. For this reason I’m really excited to get down to editing my Dolomites photos — bc I made good sure to bring my wide angle lens along and got to shoot some nice ones!

But for now, let’s admire the view 😇
Sights from Kjeragbolten - really loved this hike Sights from Kjeragbolten - really loved this hike 😍

It wasn’t physically challenging, but actually mentally challenging (initially) in fact 🤔 In the beginning, you’d need to pull yourself up using the metal chains along the hike to ascend. Initially scary, they ended up being really fun! and ofcourse, the views were amazing :)

I didn’t jump onto kjeragbolten but 40% of the people who get on this hike do. And no one has ever fallen from the rock… (but no one wants to be the 1st hahaaha.) Well at the end of the day, decide for yourself. Safety first 😁

I wrote more about my Lysefjord trip, link in bio if you need some inspiration ✨
You probably know that the weather changes really You probably know that the weather changes really fast in Norway. Grey clouds rolled in by the time we got off our ferry, though thankfully it didn’t rain. Somehow the contrast with the clear skies/sunrise just an hour before made for a special shot nonetheless 🌗

Our 1st self-service Norwegian hytte experience ✨🏠

These Norwegian hyttes run on trust, and they rely on guests to maintain and keep the cabin clean and tidy. There are many of them all over Norway 🇳🇴

Although you have to BYO food and all we could have was a dry-shower, I personally found that it was a very well-maintained, cozy shelter. There are plenty of equipment and cutlery around that you can use to make food (if you brought.. we had our own packed dinner). Also the goats with tinkling bells outside were super cute!!! Overall 10/10 experience ☺️

Some tips:
1. Upon arriving - register (even after prepaying on DNT app), find a bed (sleep liners are MANDATORY), get to know provisions (wood in the shed, draw water from well/river 💧)

2. During stay - wash your dishes so that kitchen equipment/utensils are ready for next guest, note all provisions to be debited from DNT app, sort waste, and quiet hours are from 11pm to 6am ⏰

3. Before departure - pay for any provisions you’ve taken on DNT app, make your bed and mop the floors of the rooms you used, discard waste, close gas cylinder switch before leaving and make sure all windows & doors are closed before going!

Save this post for future planning!

For more information, check out the DNT app or Stavanger Turistforening directly 😇

Have you stayed in these Norwegian hyttes before? Or would you want to? Let me know down below 👇🏼
Last Wednesday, I got the chance to try stand-up p Last Wednesday, I got the chance to try stand-up paddling here in Copenhagen! I’ve tried SUP in Mexico and Singapore - but both times they were just for “leisure”… where you were kinda just paddling around.

This time it was part of a full route with fellow kayaker friends around Copenhagen’s canals, and I must say it was tiring (a burning upper body workout) but really fun! What a way to experience Copenhagen 🤙🏼🇩🇰
